The Committees of the SCCG consist of:
The Technical Committee
Membership consists of one or more professional staff from each Member Council, including strategic planners, environmental officers, engineers, sustainability educators, and other relevant staff. The Technical Committee meets four times a year to exchange information, collaborate on current and emerging needs and develop regional projects and programs.
The Executive Committee
Membership consists of representatives from each Council. The office-bearer roles consist of a Chairperson, two Vice-Chairpersons (Ocean and Estuarine), a Secretary, and a Treasurer. The Committee meets at least quarterly.
The GM’s Forum
Membership consists of General Managers and/or Senior Staff from each Member Council. The GM’s Forum meet at least quarterly and supports the Executive Committee perform its functions. Certain functions are delegated to the GM Forum by the Executive Committee.
AGM
Membership consists of at least one delegate from each Member Council. The AGM is held annually (within 6 months of the end of financial year) and involves receiving the SCCG annual report, financial report and statements and announcing the Executive Committee members.

Dedicated Working Groups and Advisory Committees
These groups/committees are periodically established to advance specific issues and projects, and may comprise elected and/or technical members, and may occasionally include external experts and other stakeholders.
Membership of SCCG is voluntary. The SCCG’s Constitution sets out the governance of the SCCG, whilst its core objectives and strategic direction are implemented through the SCCG Strategic Plan.
The functions, operations, activities and committees of the SCCG are facilitated by the Secretariat, led by the Executive Officer.

The internal committees of the SCCG continue to be well supported and achieve significant outcomes. Committees include:
